Kristen Cosby is a freelance writer and lecturer. Her work has appeared in Kenyon Review Online, Alaska Quarterly Review, Fourth Genre, The Normal School, Creative Nonfiction, Pitt Med Magazine, Proto, and in The Moment, an anthology produced by the editors of Smith Magazine. In 2013, she was awarded a Pushcart Prize Special Mention, the Hick’s Residency in Literature at Yaddo, and a fellowship at the MacDowell Artist Colony. She was also the recipient the 2011 Normal School Prize in Nonfiction.
For much of her childhood, Kristen drifted off the coasts of Maine and New Hampshire aboard a 39 foot sailboat with her parents, brother, and dog. Amongst other things, she has lived as an ex-pat in Budapest, Hungary, and a hermit in Maine. A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, and the MFA program at the University of Pittsburgh, she now lives and writes in Boston.
